Neuropsychology

I had my Neuropsychology test about two weeks ago. It lasted from 830am until about 330 with a lunch and potty break in there. It wasn’t too bad. I actually enjoyed the puzzles and pattern detection stuff. The parts I hated involved was related to word finding and the Stroop Effect. One of the word finding tests was name as many words that start with A in a minute. They also asked for F and P. I failed horribly. It felt like I only got 5 right but it was really 20.

Anyway, the results were interesting. I have an IQ of 125 which is 95% (5 people are smarter than me out of 100 of my age/gender) when it comes to Performance IQ. It was surprised it was this high. I struggled throughout school so color me surprised that it was this high.

On the other end… my word finding was horrible. I was at 2% (98 people are better at it than me). Another area that I sucked at was the Stroop Effect which measures distractions. I was at 50% for this which is ‘normal’ but I know I am having problems with it. Both of these are probably related to the MS.

I am going to get a script to visit a speech therapist to work on methods to help figure this stuff out. Kind of exciting.
