Bad night

June 2nd, 2009 · 5 Comments

Well, I gave myself a shot at about 11:30PM and was in an insane amount of pain until about 2:30AM when I finally fell asleep. I called Shared Solutions at about 2AM and they were completely useless. They just told me how to do injections which I am not sure how that is even remotely useful at this point. None the less… they said they can’t help with anything else and to call my doctor.

Basically, I was having throbbing pain down my leg to my foot. I couldn’t get comfortable at all and my whole hip area was swollen. I haven’t experienced anything like that before. It seriously sucked.

I put some lidocaine on the bump and ice but still no good. I finally overdosed on advil and fell asleep. Today, the bump is red and painful but otherwise not nearly as bad.

Argh! I am so tired today.

Has anyone else had a similar reaction before?

I’m sorry you had such a bad shot night. Hang in and picture that incredibly unhelpful Shared Solutions rep with red injection bumps and bruises all over your faces. Immature but I bet you’re smiling, aren’t you?

This post sounds like the very first shot that I took. It was in my thigh which did swell, and the pain lasted for 4 hours. I was terrified that every single shot from that day forward would be equally long and painful. It hasn’t been, but I certainly remember those first shots.

Had similar issues with Copaxone. When I told the doctor about it, he agreed that I could not carry on with life as bowl of lumpy oatmeal. We moved on to the Fingolimod drug trial after that.
