Donating blood

March 18th, 2009 · 2 Comments

I thought I had found a good reason to have Multiple Sclerosis. Can’t donate blood! I mean, every time I get email saying donate blood, attached is a guilt trip. So boy was I happy when I thought I wouldn’t be able to donate.

Well, a coworker has cancer and apparently needs some blood. I decided that in order to relieve myself completely of the donate blood guilt trip that I should really verify it. So I emailed our local blood bank with the list of my medications.

I have an appointment in April to donate blood. I guess the guilt trip still stands even with Multiple Sclerosis. Sigh. :P

Yeah, I think many people with MS can donate. I never have and I think I may be under the weight to give but either way, I still hate needles. I guess it’s good I am not on any meds…

Really? I thought that was one of the things I was never going to get to do. I wonder why some say yes and others say no. Interesting. Sorry to hear about your coworker. It’s really sweet of you to donate to help!
