So I have been taking 10,000 IU a day of D3 for about 6 months now. The first three months my vitamin D level was at 40 even. With all the new reserach, we decided to try and get me on the higher end. We added an additional 50,000 IU a week of D2 for 3 months.
I got my vitamin D level back today and it was 112! 12 over ‘normal’. I seem to respond better to the D2 which is odd.
I am going back to the 10,000 IU of D3 a day. Hopefully that will get me in the 80’s range. Yay! Go me!

Hey, Go You!!!!
We haven’t tested my D levels yet since starting supplementation. Since I started at 7.8, I kinda don’t expect results quite that high. I’m just hoping for something in the 40 range for now. 80 maybe later.

40 is a great goal. It took me a while to get there too.
I hope you are doing well!

That’s great! Can you tell me more about the Vitamin D connection? That’s something I need to read up on. My doc didn’t have any suggestions and I don’t see the MS specialist for a couple more months.

Vitamin d is involved in the immune response. Some of the initial research suggest that it protects us from relapses by keeping out immune system in line. Vitamin d helps keep it even keeled (sp?) so that it only does what it really should do.
I think we will hear more about it in the coming years. There are some studies going on now!

I am not sure! I never really felt weird without it. Who knows though.
