If you caught Oprah the other day, she had the founders of 23andMe on her shot. 23andMe is a company that will look at your DNA to find out your risk and preferences for a number of things. It is done via spit that you send in the mail. 4-6 weeks later your results are online for your viewing. It costs 399 which is indeed a lot of money but it also seems pretty cool!
It includes your risk for Multiple Sclerosis. Along with Earwax type and Food preferences
I won’t be doing this for a little while but I might decided that this would be a good topic to cover on the blog (you know, gotta have a reason to do it.)
On the other hand… I don’t think know what I would do if I found out I had an elevated risk for any of the other diseases listed. In fact, the co-founders husband (who is the co-founder of google) found out he was at risk for Parkinson’s disease.

I would like to get the genetic test for allergies so I could quit random diet experiments and just know if any foods affect my MS. It costs almost $600.00 but I think it would be worth it if I could part with the dough.

Where would you get it from? I considered getting the food allergies test a while ago from here – http://www.meridianvalleylab.com/ It’s 200 for everything though.
