Two steps forward….

and one step back. Oh California…. I am very glad you voted to protected the rights of innocent animals. I always buy ethical animal products like free range eggs/chicken and other happy before death animal products. I try to buy local as much as possible so this was right up my alley. But California, you upset me so. You vote to protect animals but not humans. I can’t believe you voted to add discrimination to your constitution. I think the part that upsets me must however is that the minorities were the main force in this passing. MINORITIES discriminating against another minority. How soon we forget. Just because we elected an African American president does NOT mean a minority no longer has to fight for equal fights.

I realize California was not the only state to ban gay marriage. We can add Arizona and Florida to the list. Arkansas banned adoption if the parents were not married. This effects both gay and straight. They seem too think you can only raise a happy healthy child if you are married or single. Nothing in between I guess. I guess this also means that there are no children needing homes out there since they just banned capable parents from uh.. being parents.

To those that voted against gay marriage or any equal rights for gay people, what negative things would happen to you personally if they were able to marry? I can’t figure out any.

At least The Death with Dignity Act passed in Washington state with a pretty good margin. I of course voted for this and I am very glad our state ignored Martin Sheen’s stupid commercials.
