I have been a lazy poster as of late. I have no excuse! But anyway….
My Neurologist says there are two things I need to worry about when it comes to managing my MS:
1. Copaxone
2. Lifestyle
The first one is easy and I have been a good girl doing it everyday. I don’t like it but I do it.
The second one is hard. Lifestyle to my doctor includes exercise, stress reduction and diet. Who likes working out? I work better under pressure. I LOVE CHOCOLATE.
There have been people that suggest exercise is bad for those of us with MS. I think there use to be some confusion with the heat sensitivity. If you go blind while exercising, exercising must be bad for you. That (sadly?
) has changed. Exercise is required for those of us with MS! We need the to increase muscle tone to help with weakness.
Exercising also helps with stress by creating lots of happy hormones. So I figure I should work on exercise since I might be killing two birds with one store (or how I normally say it one bird with two stones). I am also very lucky to have a VERY nice gym at my work. It is brand new with TV’s in all the cardio machines.
Since I love toys, I decided to have a goal of a Kindle if I do the following for three months straight:
1. Go to the gym for 6 times a week with the week starting on Monday
2. I can go twice a day and it be counted as 2 times.
3. I can either do 60 minutes of cardio or 30 minutes of cardio and weights.
So far this month:
Nov 1 – 40 minutes cardio on a treadmill + weights
Nov 3 – 60 minutes cardio on the Precor AMT 100i torture machine
Nov 4 – 60 minutes of cardio on the elliptical

I just take the dog for very vigorous walks, do speed gardening, run after said dog, and hike looking for cool plants and bugs. Oh, and yoga.
