There is a new show called The Doctors. It is from Dr. Phil and his son. Anyway, I am and always have been a bit of a medical geek so I decided to start Tivoing it. There are four doctors which discuss medical related topics in a 1 hour show on Monday through Friday. There is an ER Doctor who also use to be The Bachelor. (Ok speaking of the The Bachelor, I can’t wait for the next one! It’s the guy from Kirkland with a cute little kid… he was on the last The Bachelorette.). There is also an OB/GYM, a Plastic Surgeon and Dr. Jim Sears who is a well known Pediatrician.
The format is a panel where all give their opinions about different topics. When they discussed Multiple Sclerosis they did go into some detail about the myelin and had cool moving graphics too. They have some very cool graphics for the body.
They are very doctor focused (which I guess you can expected but…). They had a show on soon to be fathers and everything was when you see your OB, when you call your OB and you blah blah your OB. The whole time I was wishing she would just say when you see your OB or Midwife…. but she is an OB/GYN and my guess is, she doesn’t feel midwifery worthy of being mentioned. The OB/GYN on there seems really snobby I must say.
But anyway, the shows are pretty interesting because they do jump around topics a lot. Like yesterdays show they had a segment about bird poo facials and Multiple Sclerosis. They had two women with Multiple Sclerosis on the show. One of them had a problem with foot drop. She talked about the impact MS has had on her family. They had her try out a Ness L300 Drop Foot Device. She noticed that it really helped her pick up her foot.
The other person with MS had been using this device for a while and climbed Diamond Head in Hawaii. She said the device had changed her life. She was even able to walk down the aisle to get married. She was wearing a shirt that said “MS Crushers”.
Anyway, check out the show if you can handle wadding through the crap.
