High blood pressure or MS?

October 16th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I have a pretty darn good blood pressure. It’s pretty much always 110/70. So the lady that does the blood pressure/pulse is always telling me she would like my blood pressure. I always say with it comes other problems. It brought up an interesting question. Would I exchange MS for high blood pressure?

With high blood pressure comes a world of very serious problems like high cholesterol (well, it goes hand in hand with high blood pressure), heart disease, and well… death. But at least with high blood pressure, they know the cause. They have medications AND! and the medications aren’t shots. They also don’t cost 2,000/mo. Having high blood pressure is a pretty predictable condition… unlike MS.

On the other hand, you don’t really die from MS. So if you like to live, MS is a better way to go. Of course, I will never know what my mobility will be like. I will never be able to predict my next ‘incident’. I worry almost everyday about another case of optic neuritis. ON really sucks a lot. I remember having such a hard time reading bold that now I have lots of hate for people that use bold fonts. Anyway, that is not the point.

Which is worse MS or high blood pressure? If I could predict the MS, I would be able to answer the question. Instead I will think positively and believe that high blood pressure has to be worse. After all, anything that could kill you has to be worse than a little tingling or ON. Right?

The lady with high blood pressure said she would rather have that than MS. She had some weird idea that people died from MS though…. little does she know!

Anyway, lots of rambling… I am on drugs. The good drugs that people use to make meth and stop the snot. I am all about stopping the snot.

What about us poor slobs that have both MS and a side order of high blood pressure? I always try to to do the most, so I get to do those darling shots and take the blood pressure medicine. I am also trying to get used a mega dose of vitamin D, something Lisa Emrich told me I needed to check out your website for more info. Time for me to research your site!

I’m with ya, Andy. Hypertension + MS — but to add to the fun and frolic, the MS caused a seizure disorder.

I definitely think high blood pressure is the easiest one. 1 pill a day controls it.
