My sharps container was full so we set out on Saturday to find out what to do with this thing. Interestingly enough, the waste management place is 5 miles away and it was free! I haven’t been to the dump so I was a kid so it was quite a smelly experience. I also got the vacation override for Copaxone approved and the meds were delivered on Saturday. They originally wanted to deliver them on Tuesday which uh, doesn’t give me much time to find a back up plan if something were to go wrong. So all is good for now I guess.

I am getting ready for Europe since I leave on Wednesday. I will be gone for 21 days which is insane. I don’t mind traveling but I get a little depressed upon arrival. At least I will be meeting my parents there otherwise I might be in tears like I was in Canada! Anyway, instead of packing today… Tom and I went on an adventure to Whidbey Island. This was his first Ferry ride so that was fun! I also picked up a bunch of Raspberry’s and made Jam for this first time tonight. It’s pretty yummy but a little sweet. I also picked up a bunch of Lavender which I have grown to like in my old age.

It is time to renew health insurance via my employer.  I have been worrying that they would switch to a different type of drug coverage but lucky, it’s staying the same.  I can stop worrying for this year at least.  I asked some folks at work about what to do in Rome and one person suggested some hiking locations but then said “oh but you can’t hike huh”.  Another person said I wasn’t walking so well and seemed concerned.  Another was shocked up walked up to the movie theater by work.  I feel broken enough without their help but thanks for validation my brokenness.

Before my MS stuff, I have always had some orthopedic problems.  I have had surgery on my right and left jaw joint, right and left shoulder, and 8 months ago I had surgery on my foot for Achilles tendinitis (I feel like I am missing a surgery.  hmm, anyway).  I always wondering why I was so broken but MS explains some of it.  My body is screwed up.  Anyway the foot surgery was bad.  It sucked, completely.  I am walking better but not perfect.  I can walk long distances but not it’s not always pretty.  Oh well, I am broken but really, stop pointing it out to me ok?  I am already well aware of it.  I take more pills a day than my mother.

Hey!! Hiking is not completely out of the question. What do your co-workers know?

Check out this recent post by an MSer currently traveling in Italy.

Have fun in Europe. Don’t worry, just because you might have a limp and some bone issues. You are not “broken.” To me you seem quite competent and whole.
