Big expensive hotel here I come!

I got a letter in the mail from Copaxone advertising a MS program at the Edgewater Hotel on the water front in Seattle. It’s a pretty snazzy hotel and they are paying for parking. Call me shocked. Do I need to bring my “I have MS” badge so I get the free parking? Anyway, Tom said he would go and we are both up for free food. This is called “Steps Forward in Multiple Sclerosis” and a bunch of Virgina Mason docs are talking. It would be nice to know what they are talking about but oh well.

The interesting part of this is that it is paid for by the Multiple Sclerosis Associate of America which is a non-profit however not ranked very well on Charity Navigator. In fact, it’s the lowest ranked MS charity out there with 2 out of 4 stars. 19% of their budget goes to making more money by fund raising. Anyway, I guess some folks don’t like the National MS Society because they believe they are in bed with the drug companies. It seems to me that they are just more involved in research which sadly is done a lot of the time by drug companies.

Honestly, I don’t care as long as they want to feed me at a fancy hotel… really.
