My friend (well technically, my mothers friend) Linda said that for the first three months of her diagnosis she set out to learn everything she could on Multiple Sclerosis. She went to meetings with the local MS chapter to hear about the latest research, she read anything she could find and do what a good multiple sclerosis patient would do.
I think most of us MS’ers do. I know I am/have/did do that. I think I have finally reached the point of being tired of Multiple Sclerosis (and I can finally spell it right 95% of the time) though. I am pretty sure it’s just a phase. I am addicted to information and knowledge.
In other news, I turn 30 years old on Sunday. I feel very old but not as old as my parents I am sure. We are going to go hang out on a Cruise boat on Sunday. Some local cruise company is offering an afternoon on a cruise boat plus lunch for 30 bucks. I have never been on one so it seemed like fun. We have to bring our passports though which is odd since it’s not leaving dock. Anyway, I really wanted to rent a cabin in the wilderness and mop around but Tom can’t plan that far in advance so I might have to be cheerful for my birthday.
Well, I’ll be mopping around until then at least.

Happy birthday. I think once you adjust to the diagnoses that for the most part, life goes on. You are not your MS just like each of us is not our sexual orientation. These are aspects of us but they are not us. You are still the same woman you were before diagnoses and if you need an MS time-out you should take one.
