MRI at lunch time == NAP TIME!!!

June 27th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I had my spinal MRI at 1pm yesterday which was a prefect time for a 1.5 hour long nap. MRI’s are weird things. It’s like being a baby during a long drive in a car seat. It vibrates like a car. You can’t move around like a car seat. And [...]

Electronic Medical Records!

June 25th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I asked the lab about how I can get my results. They said the only way is to go through the doctor. So I called the doctor today and I got the very weird medical assistant. He’s a nice guy but very very weird. There were a couple labs that were [...]

Where to go?

June 24th, 2008 · 8 Comments

Since I work in the high tech field, it’s pretty normal for me to seek resources online. That is the first thing I did when I found out I had MS. My doctor had said to call the National MS Society and get some information but I wasn’t ready to talk to a [...]

New Neurologist!

June 23rd, 2008 · 2 Comments

Today I had an appointment with my “second opinion” with hopes that become my primary Neurologist. While I have no problems with Dr. May, I wanted a normal non-focused Neurologist. I met with Dr. Gary Stobbe and I really liked him. He said treatment at this point is three steps:

Lifestyle – diet [...]

Day 2 and 3 of Copaxone

June 21st, 2008 · No Comments

I think the auto-injector will be easier to use mentally. I don’t have to look at the needle going in or anything. I don’t really like the pop sound it makes but it works ok.
On day 2 and 3 I injected into the upper leg which has been more painful than the stomach. [...]

Day 1 of Copaxone

June 19th, 2008 · 2 Comments

The nurse from a local home health care company came out today to give me the injection training. I think the company really pushes the auto-injection because she was kind of against me doing it manually so I agreed to do auto-injection. I had asked to see the needle which I could tell [...]

Relationships and Opinions

June 17th, 2008 · 3 Comments

My boyfriend spoke to someone in the medical profession today about me and my MS. This person suggested that I might not be worth staying with because I might end up in a nursing home or he will end up taking care of me. To say I am pissed off at such suggestions [...]

Organized Chaos?

June 16th, 2008 · 4 Comments

I have been having panic attacks for a couple days now. I am guessing that it is due to my medication showing up this week. I am freaked out by the idea of giving myself injections daily. I know the panic attacks won’t go away until I start the injections so it’s [...]

Auto-injection!

June 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Well, the Copaxone prescription is moving along. I received my auto-injector today in the mail. I am not sure I am an auto-injector kind of girl but I will try it. I have a feeling I will like the manual way but we will see. I have no idea how it [...]

Pregnancy and MS

June 11th, 2008 · 4 Comments

I remember many years ago reading an article in the Seattle Times about a woman who was able to go from using a wheelchair/cane on a daily basis to walking her dog in the park because of pregnancy. I mentioned the article several times to friends and family because its so remarkable. Within [...]
